Our History
The Cleveland Chapter of the Chosen Few Vette Club was established on August 8, 2008 in Bedford Heights, Ohio. With the blessing of the Columbus Chapter, Zeb Williams and Sam Mack officially brought together the three potential members: Alex Wade, Steve Davis, and Stan Neal. All five were officially recognized as founding members by the Columbus Chapter. Since that time our membership has grown to 14. The Columbus Chapter currently has 30 members (founded in 2004).
As part of the Chosen Few Vette Club, we were also extended full membership to the Ohio Corvette Alliance as a separate entity. The Ohio Corvette Alliance is a group of eight Ohio Corvette Clubs. It was created in October 2002. Not only do we support the Columbus Chapter, but we also support all of the Alliance clubs with their fundraising and car shows.
Who we are and what we stand for?
Members of the Chosen Few Vette Club come from all walks of life. This club is open to all individuals regardless of gender, race, or religion. Being a member of this club has brought together like-minded people whose foundation is based on the appreciation of the Corvette. This attitude has created a sense of family and comradery that we have come to cherish and appreciate. We do not recruit new members; we welcome potential members, ask us about our club and membership.
We treat each member and their significant other with the utmost respect. Our wives and significant others travel with us on occasion, but it’s not a requirement. We do not condone the use of illegal drugs at any of our functions or around our families. Alcohol is acceptable in moderation, but not when we are traveling on the road (see our website for details).
With our fundraising efforts, we have donated to charitable organizations such as the Kym Sellers Foundation, The Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland, Footprints for Girls, Mount Sinai Ministries and the East Tech Scholarship Fund.
What is required for membership?
Any legally registered Corvette from 1953 – 2018. The Corvette can be used as a pleasure vehicle, show or race car. Membership dues are $120 per year. Most members in the club like to compete in local car shows, but we will support members who like to race their Corvette as well.
As a potential new member you must go through a 90 day trial period where you are required to attend our monthly meetings and accompany us to any of the events we attend, if your schedule allows. This gives you a chance to be around us to make sure that the Chosen Few Vette Club family is the club for you.
Being a Chosen Few Vette Club Member
Like any organization, you get out of it what you put into it. Participation in every car show or road trip is not a strict requirement, but the only way to get the full enjoyment of being a part of this club is to make an effort and make this a part of your schedule.
Thanks, and we hope you will become a member of our family.
